DESCRIPTION:Meals in a Pinch runs every other Tuesday and provides four meals to some of our Harpswell neighbors for a variety of reasons. Some are not able to consistently prepare meals because of health\, ability\, or mobility; others have difficulty obtaining food for practical or financial reasons. There is no income qualification–only a recognition that we all need some support at times. Whether an ongoing situation or a temporary need–like after a surgery or illness–Harpswell Aging at Home has meals available. Emergency meals can even be provided on the same day if necessary. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy free fresh produce on Wednesdays thanks to HAH and partners Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program\, Merrymeeting Gleaners and Harpswell Community Garden. Tables of contributed vegetables are set up each Wednesday from 1-4 pm (or until they run out) through October at Cundy’s Harbor Nazarene and Elijah Kellogg Churches\, and Orr’s Island Library. Please wait til 1 pm to arrive so our volunteers have enough time to get everything out. Anyone can leave vegetables for others as well.

DESCRIPTION:The free Friends Together program meets on four Thursdays this fall. Each week will include an hour of chair yoga followed by a wellness information session. From 9-10am\, Janet Alexander will lead Chair Yoga\, a series of movement exercises accessible to all. From 10:15-11:15am\, Ashley Butterfield\, Executive Director of Bath-Brunswick Respite Care\, will discuss “The Red Folder” with contingency-planning materials to help individuals and families prepare for unexpected situations and organize important information. The Red Folder is intended to be a practical\, living document that can be updated as circumstances change.
